Dear Families,
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus uses two parables to tell us about the Kingdom of God. In the first parable, the seeds planted grew into a healthy crop of grain, but it took many days and nights. In the second parable, the mustard seed which is the size of a teeny dot on a sheet of paper grows into a tree. Both these parables focus on seeds. Seeds sown take time to grow. When things take a long time to happen, we have to be patient and have faith. When we learn about our faith and practice it well, it will grow so that everyone will see its effect in our lives. We must sow seeds by spreading his words.
God wants us to know that if we live as Jesus tells us, we can look forward to happiness with God in the Kingdom of Heaven.

What actions start small but can grow into larger things?
(Good: kindness, love, forgiveness)
(Bad: anger, not forgiving, judgment)

En el Evangelio de este domingo, Jesús usa dos parábolas para hablarnos sobre el Reino de Dios. En la primera parábola, las semillas plantadas se convirtieron en un cultivo saludable de grano, pero tomó muchos días y noches. En la segunda parábola, la semilla de mostaza que es del tamaño de un punto adolescente en una hoja de papel crece en un árbol. Ambas parábolas se centran en las semillas. Las semillas sembradas tardan en crecer. Cuando las cosas tardan mucho tiempo en suceder, tenemos que ser pacientes y tener fe. Cuando aprendemos acerca de nuestra fe y la practicamos bien, crecerá para que todos vean su efecto en nuestras vidas. Debemos sembrar semillas difundiendo sus palabras.
Dios quiere que sepamos que si vivimos como Jesús nos dice, podemos esperar la felicidad con Dios en el Reino de los Cielos.
