3/20/22 - Parable of the Fig Tree - Cycle C
Dear Families,
This Sunday, Jesus tells us about a fig tree. In Jesus’ country, a fig tree is as common as an apple tree is to us. Many people grew fig trees and looked forward to eating the figs. The fig tree in Jesus’ parable isn’t producing figs. What to do? Cut it down? The gardener gives the tree another chance and says he will add more fertilizer and give the tree more care. Jesus wants us to see God is like the gardener who wants to care for us and give us another chance. The Gospel calls us to turn toward God and be fruitful by showing love for one another.
Lent is a good time to pray and understand that we must turn from bad things and practice doing good things. Our deeds are our fruit.

3/20/22 - Parábola de Una Higuera- Ciclo C
Querida Familias,
Este domingo, Jesús nos habla de una higuera. En el país de Jesús, una higuera es tan común como un manzano es para nosotros. Muchas personas cultivaban higueras y esperaban comer las higueras. La higuera en la parábola de Jesús no está produciendo higos. ¿Qué hacer? ¿Cortarlo? El jardinero le da al árbol otra oportunidad y dice que agregará más fertilizante y le dará más cuidado al árbol. Jesús quiere que veamos que Dios es como el jardinero que quiere cuidarlos y darnos otra oportunidad. El Evangelio nos llama a volvernos hacia Dios y ser fructíferos mostrando amor los unos por los otros.
La Cuaresma es un buen tiempo para orar y entender que debemos apartarnos de las cosas malas y practicar hacer cosas buenas. Nuestras obras son nuestro fruto.
