3/27/22 - The Forgiving Father - Cycle C
Dear Families,
This Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells us a parable about a man who has two sons. The youngest son who asked his father for his inheritance, left his home and squandered it all. The oldest son stayed, worked and obeyed him. When the youngest son returns the father throws him a party. His oldest son is jealous and doesn’t understand the father giving him a celebration for his bad behavior. What about me? I’ve been good where is my party? He is jealous. Jesus teaches us about God’s love and forgiveness. In our lives we are at times like the younger son, we walk away from God. Other times we might be like the older son, jealous of the love and forgiveness that God shows to others.
This story speaks to us about the meaning of reconciliation, God’s love, forgiveness and mercy. It is Lent, let us seek to be reconciled with God and others, especially through the healing Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This Laetare Sunday let us rejoice and remember the joy that Easter will bring after the time of repentance during Lent. Jesus tells us, “there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents”. (Luke 15:7).

3/27/22 - El Padre Que Perdona- Ciclo C
Querida Familias,
En el Evangelio de este domingo, Jesús nos cuenta una parábola sobre un hombre que tiene dos hijos. El hijo menor que le pidió a su padre su herencia, dejó su casa y lo desperdició todo. El hijo mayor se quedó, trabajó y le obedeció. Cuando el hijo menor regresa, el padre le organiza una fiesta. Su hijo mayor está celoso y no entiende porque el padre le dé una celebración por su mal comportamiento. ¿Y yo? He sido bueno ¿dónde está mi fiesta? Está celoso. Jesús nos enseña acerca del amor y el perdón de Dios. En nuestras vidas somos a veces como el hijo menor, nos alejamos de Dios. Otras veces podemos ser como el hijo mayor, celosos del amor y el perdón que Dios muestra a los demás.
Esta historia nos habla del significado de la reconciliación, del amor, el perdón y la misericordia de Dios. Es Cuaresma, busquemos reconciliarnos con Dios y con los demás, especialmente a través del Sacramento sanador de la Reconciliación.
Este domingo de Laetare regocijémonos y recordemos la alegría que traerá la Pascua después del tiempo de arrepentimiento durante la Cuaresma. Jesús nos dice, “habrá más alegría en el cielo por un solo pecador que vuelve a Dios”. (Lucas 15:7).
