12/18/22 - An Angel Speaks to Joseph - Cycle A
Dear Families,
In this Fourth Sunday of Advent, we learn about Joseph’s dilemma when he learns that Mary, who he is betrothed to, is expecting a child that is not his. He could have accused Mary of adultery and subjected her to punishment. But he was unwilling to take this step, so he decided to divorce her quietly. However, an Angel appears to Joseph in a dream, and tells Joseph to take Mary as his wife for her pregnancy is an act of God. The angel tells him to name the baby Jesus. Joseph trusting God, makes a choice, and does what the Angel tells him. He takes Mary into his home and names the baby Jesus which means “he will save”.
As the prophet Isaiah said, “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel which means “God is with us”. Let us not forget that God is always with us. He is our Savior.

12/18/22 - Un Ángel le Habla a José - Ciclo A
Querida Familias,
En este cuarto domingo de Adviento, aprendemos sobre el dilema de José cuando se entera de que María, con quien está comprometido, está esperando un hijo que no es suyo. Podría haber acusado a María de adulterio y haberla sometido a castigo. Pero él no estaba dispuesto a dar este paso, por lo que decidió divorciarse de ella en silencio. Sin embargo, un ángel se le aparece a José en un sueño, y le dice a José que tome a María como su esposa porque su embarazo es un acto de Dios. El ángel le dice que llame al niño Jesús. José confiando en Dios, toma una decisión y hace lo que el ángel le dice. Lleva a María a su casa y nombra al niño Jesús, que significa "él salvará".
Como dijo el profeta Isaías, "He aquí que la virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, a quien pondrán el nombre de Emmanuel que quiere decir Dios-con-nosotros". No olvidemos que Dios está siempre con nosotros. Él es nuestro Salvador.
