12/17/23 - Christ in Our Hearts - Cycle B

Dear Families,

In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear how John the Baptist answered when he was asked if he was the Messiah. He told them that as Isaiah had said, he was the voice of the one crying out in the desert, making straight the way of the Lord. John the Baptist was preparing the way for Jesus coming. John said he was baptizing with water and someone that they did not recognize would baptize them with the Holy Spirit.

Like John the Baptist we are called to prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus and be the voice of faith proclaiming Jesus to the world. In this third Sunday of Advent, as we light the pink candle of Joy, let us rejoice and remember that “Emmanuel” God is with us. Share this joy.

Querida Familias,

En el Evangelio de este domingo, escuchamos cómo respondió Juan el Bautista cuando le preguntaron si él era el Mesías. Les dijo que, como había dicho Isaías, él era la voz del que grita en el desierto, enderezando el camino del Señor. Juan el Bautista estaba preparando el camino para la venida de Jesús. Juan dijo que estaba bautizando con agua y que alguien que no reconocían los bautizaría con el Espíritu Santo.

Al igual que Juan el Bautista, estamos llamados a prepararnos para la venida de Jesús y ser la voz de la fe que anuncia a Jesús al mundo. En este tercer domingo de Adviento, mientras encendemos la vela rosa de la Alegría, regocijémonos y recordemos que Dios "Emmanuel" está con nosotros. Comparte esta alegría.
