2/2/25 - The Presentation of the Lord - Cycle C

Dear Families,

In this week’s Gospel of Luke, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. As was the Jewish custom, Mary and Joseph presented Jesus in the Temple forty days after his birth. Simeon a devout and righteous man was at the Temple. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would see Christ of the Lord before he died. When Mary and Joseph came to the Temple, he recognized Jesus.

We too are called to recognize Jesus Christ. When we follow our Catholic faith and customs by receiving our Sacraments, attending Mass, praying and serving others we too will recognize Jesus.

As a family watch video in its entirety and then ask each other these questions.

Querida Familias,

En el Evangelio de Lucas de esta semana, celebramos la Fiesta de la Presentación del Señor. Como era costumbre judía, María y José presentaron a Jesús en el Templo cuarenta días después de su nacimiento. Simeón, un hombre piadoso y justo, estaba en el Templo. El Espíritu Santo le había revelado que vería al Mesías del Señor antes de morir. Cuando María y José llegaron al Templo, él reconoció a Jesús.

También nosotros estamos llamados a reconocer a Jesús. Cuando seguimos nuestra fe y costumbres católicas y recibimos nuestros Sacramentos, vamos a Misa, oramos y le servimos a los demás, también reconoceremos a Jesús.
