Dear Parents,

This Sunday is called Good Shepherd Sunday because Jesus tells His friends that He is the Good Shepherd who will lay down His life for His sheep. He explains that a hired shepherd runs away when a wolf comes. A hired shepherd only wants to be paid. Jesus says, “I know my sheep, and they know me.” He tells us that we belong to Him and He will lay down His life for us. Jesus reminds us how important we are to Him, so important that He died and rose so we can go to Heaven someday.

This week our video is a reflection on the First Reading and the Gospel. As a family, watch video in its entirety and ask each other these questions: How is Jesus like a good shepherd? How are you like a good shepherd?

Este domingo se llama Domingo de El Buen Pastor porque Jesús les dice a Sus amigos que Él es el Buen Pastor que dará Su vida por Sus ovejas. Explica que un pastor contratado huye cuando viene un lobo. Un pastor contratado sólo quiere que le paguen. Jesús dice, "Conozco a mis ovejas, y ellos me conocen." Él nos dice que pertenecemos a Él y que Él dará Su vida por nosotros. Jesús nos recuerda lo importante que somos para Él, tan importante que Él murió y resucito para que podamos ir al Cielo algún día.

Esta semana nuestro vídeo es una reflexión sobre la Primera Lectura y el Evangelio. Como familia, vean el video en su totalidad y luego pregúntese el uno al otro: ¿Cómo es Jesús como un buen pastor? ¿Cómo eres como un buen pastor?
